Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Butter or oil spray can be used as an alternative.

  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded Can substitute with Gruyère or mozzarella.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • Thinly slice the potatoes using a mandoline or a sharp knife to about 1/8 inch thickness.
  • In a large bowl, toss the potato slices with olive oil, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
  • Begin layering the potato slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, inserting shredded cheese between each layer.

Baking

  • Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes or until crispy and golden brown on the edges.
  • Let the stacks cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For best results, slice potatoes uniformly and avoid overcrowding on the baking sheet. You can experiment with spices for extra flavor enhancements.
