  • 0.5 cups Cocoa powder For chocolate variations.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy. Gradually add the dry mixture while mixing.
  • Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then pour in milk and vanilla extract.

Baking

  • Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Let the cakes rest in the pans for 10 minutes then move them to wire racks to cool completely.

Frosting

  • Frost the cooled cakes with your favorite frosting, such as buttercream or cream cheese.

Notes

Use fresh ingredients and let them come to room temperature for better incorporation. Avoid overmixing to keep the cake moist. Experiment with flavors and decorations for a unique touch.
