  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts You can use thighs if you prefer darker meat.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil For cooking the chicken.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt More to taste.
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper More to taste.

For the Sauce

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened For the garlic butter mixture.
  • 2 teaspoons honey Can be substituted with maple syrup.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth Use homemade or low-sodium store-bought.

To Serve

  • to taste fresh parsley, chopped For garnish.

Preparation

  • In a small bowl, mix together the softened butter, honey, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  • Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Season both sides lightly with additional salt and pepper if desired.
  • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned chicken breasts, cooking for 5-6 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through, reaching an internal temperature of 165°F. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  • Add the chicken broth to the skillet, using a wooden spoon to scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
  • Stir the prepared garlic butter mixture into the skillet, allowing it to melt and combine seamlessly with the chicken broth.
  • Return the seared chicken breasts to the skillet, spooning the garlic butter sauce over each piece. Let the chicken simmer in the sauce for a minute or two to absorb the flavors.
  • Transfer the garlic butter chicken to a serving platter and garnish with fresh chopped parsley. Serve hot alongside your favorite sides.

Notes

Choose the right pan for even cooking. Adjust heat as necessary to avoid burning. Cook in batches if necessary for an even cook. Let the chicken rest for maximum juiciness.
