  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese You can try different types of cheese for a unique twist.
  • 1 bag frozen tater tots Fresh potatoes can be used but may require longer cooking time.
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 unit onion, chopped
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a skillet, brown the ground beef with chopped onion, seasoning with salt and pepper.
  • Drain excess fat, then stir in the cream of mushroom soup and milk.

Assembly

  • In a baking dish, layer the beef mixture.
  • Top evenly with tater tots and sprinkle with cheddar cheese.

Baking

  • Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the tater tots are golden brown and cheese is melted.

Notes

Serve Tater Tot Casserole hot. Pairs well with a simple side salad or steamed vegetables. If you have leftovers, cool completely before storing in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freezing for up to three months. Consider adding vegetables like peas or corn for extra nutrients.
