Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour a 9x13 inch cake pan.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes until smooth.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan.

Baking

  • Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool in the pan for about 10 minutes.

Assembly

  • Poke holes in the center of the cooled cake using a fork, evenly spacing them.
  • In a separate bowl, dissolve the strawberry Jello in 2 cups of boiling water, then add 1 cup of cold water and stir.
  • Pour the Jello mixture evenly over the cake, filling the holes completely. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  • Before serving, top with whipped topping and garnish with fresh strawberries. Cut into squares and serve chilled.

Notes

For best results, refrigerate the cake longer, ideally overnight. Use a fork to poke holes for even saturation.
