Ingredients

For the Cookie Base

  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour For a healthier version, consider using whole wheat flour.
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Coconut oil can be used for a dairy-free option.
  • 1.5 cups granulated sugar Can be replaced with coconut sugar for natural sweetening.
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

For Decorating

  • Red and blue icing
  • Black icing for Spider-Man's web
  • Optional: Edible glitter or sprinkles For extra fun.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
  • Incorporate the egg and vanilla extract into the butter-sugar mixture, beating until fully combined.
  • Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.

Baking

  • Scoop out tablespoon-sized portions of dough, roll them into balls, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, flattening them slightly.
  • Bake for about 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Decorating

  • Once cooled, decorate with red and blue icing for Spider-Man's face and use black icing for the webs.

Notes

For a professional finish, use a pastry bag for icing. Chill the dough for 30 minutes if too sticky. Don’t overbake for a soft center.
