  • 1 cup sourdough starter Make sure it's active and bubbly
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Can substitute with whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese Can substitute with different types of cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional) Can adjust based on preference
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder (optional) Can adjust based on preference
  • Sesame seeds or poppy seeds for topping (optional) For extra flavor and texture

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, mix together the sourdough starter, all-purpose flour, cheddar cheese, salt, melted butter, and optional seasonings until a dough forms.
  • Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick.
  • Cut the dough into squares or desired shapes and place on a baking sheet.
  • If using, sprinkle sesame or poppy seeds on top.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until crispy and golden.
  • Allow to cool before enjoying.

Notes

For storage, keep in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or freeze for up to three months after cooling completely.
