  • 4 pieces chicken breasts
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream Can substitute with low-fat cream
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour Adjust for desired sauce thickness
  • 1 unit onion, diced Fresh for best flavor
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Fresh for best flavor
  • 4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled Optional, can substitute with turkey bacon or vegetarian option
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

  • Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  • In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and cook the chicken until browned on both sides and cooked through.
  • Remove the chicken and set aside.

Making the Sauce

  • In the same skillet, add diced onion and garlic, sauté until translucent.
  • Sprinkle flour over the onion and garlic, stirring to combine, and cook for 1 minute.
  • Gradually whisk in chicken broth and cream, bringing to a simmer.
  • Return the chicken to the skillet, spoon the gravy over it, and let simmer for a few minutes.
  • Top with crumbled bacon before serving.

Notes

Serve hot with extra gravy over the top. It pairs beautifully with rice, mashed potatoes, or steamed vegetables. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, or freeze for longer storage.
