Ingredients

For the Base

  • 1 lb ground beef (lean preferred) Can substitute with ground turkey or plant-based meat.
  • 1 lb red potatoes, diced Sweet potatoes can be used as an alternative.
  • 1-2 cups shredded cheddar or Colby Jack cheese Use vegan cheese for a dairy-free version.
  • 1 cup chopped lettuce or mixed greens
  • 1 small onion, diced

For the Sauce

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon yellow or Dijon mustard
  • ½ teaspoon Cajun seasoning Adjust to taste.

To Serve

  • 1-2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Pickles
  • Extra lettuce
  • Fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

Cooking the Potatoes

  • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Toss diced potatoes in olive oil, salt, and pepper. Air fry for 16–18 minutes, shaking halfway through until golden and crispy.

Caramelizing the Onions

  • Heat a skillet over medium-low heat with a little olive oil. Add diced onions and cook for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until soft and golden. Remove and set aside.

Cooking the Beef

  • In the same skillet, increase heat to medium-high. Add the ground beef, breaking it up, and pressing it into the pan to create crispy edges. Cook for 5–7 minutes until browned. Season with salt and pepper and drain excess fat if needed.

Making the Sauce

  • In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, and Cajun seasoning until smooth.

Assembling the Bowls

  • Start by adding crispy potatoes to serving bowls. Layer on the cooked beef, caramelized onions, and shredded cheese. Drizzle with the special sauce and add a generous portion of lettuce. Top with pickles and fresh parsley.

Notes

Customize ingredients according to dietary needs. For extra flavor, consider adding herbs or different cheeses. This dish is best enjoyed fresh but can have components prepped in advance for easy assembly.
