Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 3 lbs beef short ribs
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup red wine (optional) Can be replaced with additional beef broth
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Preparation

  • Season the beef short ribs with salt and pepper.
  • In a skillet, brown the ribs on all sides over medium-high heat, then transfer to the crockpot.
  • In the same skillet, add the onion and garlic, sauté until softened.
  • Add the beef broth, red wine, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, and soy sauce; bring to a simmer.
  • Pour the mixture over the ribs in the crockpot.

Cooking

  • Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the meat is tender.

Serving

  • Serve the ribs garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

Leftover beef short ribs can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. For longer storage, freeze the ribs with the sauce for up to 3 months. For extra flavor, sear the ribs in batches to avoid crowding the pan. If you prefer a thicker sauce, remove the lid in the last hour of cooking.
