  • 1 cup salsa verde Homemade salsa for fresher taste is recommended.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder Adjust based on flavor preference.
  • 1 teaspoon cumin Feel free to modify based on flavor preference.
  • Salt and pepper to taste

To Serve

  • Optional: chopped cilantro for garnish Can be replaced with green onions or parsley.

Preparation

  • Place the chicken breast in the crockpot.
  • Pour the salsa verde over the chicken, ensuring it’s evenly coated.
  • Sprinkle garlic powder, cumin, salt, and pepper on top.

Cooking

  • Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
  • Check for doneness when the chicken shreds easily with a fork.

Serving

  • Once cooked, shred the chicken in the crockpot using two forks and mix it well with the salsa.
  • Serve warm, garnished with chopped cilantro if desired.

Notes

Use fresh ingredients for better flavor. Serve with lime wedges, sour cream, or guacamole. Pair with tortilla chips for a crunchy side.
