Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 2 tbsp A-1 sauce
  • 1 tsp steak seasoning
  • 4 toasted buns
  • 4 slices provolone cheese

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef. Drain any excess fat.
  • Add the chopped onion and green pepper to the skillet, cooking until they are softened.
  • Stir in the beef broth, A-1 sauce, and steak seasoning. Let the mixture simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Serve the mixture on toasted buns and top with sliced provolone cheese.

Notes

Make sure to drain the excess fat after browning the beef for a less greasy dish. You can spice it up by adding some jalapeƱos or hot sauce to the meat mixture. Feel free to switch the provolone cheese for another type of cheese, such as mozzarella or cheddar, for a different flavor. For a healthier option, use ground turkey or chicken instead of ground beef, or whole wheat buns or a lettuce wrap.
