  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Use room temperature for easy mixing.
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips Experiment with different types of chocolate chips for variety.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the butter mixture.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Drop by large spoonfuls onto ungreased pans.

Baking

  • Bake for 10-12 minutes in the preheated oven, or until edges are nicely browned.
  • Allow to cool on the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Serve warm for a delightful experience. They pair wonderfully with a glass of milk, coffee, or tea. You can also add a scoop of ice cream on top for an extra special dessert. Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or refrigerate or freeze for longer storage.
