  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Use room temperature for better mixing.
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs

Mix-ins

  • 2 cups chocolate chips Can mix dark and milk chocolate chips for richer flavor.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda. Set this mix aside.
  • In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt until the mixture is creamy.
  • Add the vanilla extract and eggs to the butter mixture. Mix well until everything is combined.
  • Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients. Stir until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough and place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden but the centers are still soft.
  • Remove from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store your cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze them with parchment paper between layers to avoid sticking. Don't overmix the dough after adding the flour.
