Ingredients

For the Base

  • 1 quart vanilla ice cream Or any flavor you love.
  • 1 cup cornflakes or graham cracker crumbs Use gluten-free cornflakes for a gluten-free version.
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon Adjust spice level as desired.
  • 1/4 cup sugar Can substitute with coconut sugar or sugar substitute.

For the Sauce

  • whipped cream For topping.
  • chocolate or caramel sauce For drizzling.

To Serve

  • optional toppings (e.g., sprinkles, nuts) Customize as desired.

Instructions

Scooping and Freezing

  • Scoop your vanilla ice cream into balls about the size of a golf ball. Place them onto a baking sheet and freeze them for at least 1 hour until firm.

Preparing the Crumb Coating

  • In a large mixing bowl, crush your cornflakes or graham crackers. Combine them with sugar and ground cinnamon, mixing until well combined.

Coating the Ice Cream

  • Take the frozen ice cream balls from the freezer. Roll each ball in the crumb mixture until fully coated, ensuring every part is covered for the best crunch.

Refreezing

  • Once coated, place the ice cream balls back into the freezer for at least 30 minutes to firm up again.

Serving and Garnishing

  • When ready to serve, remove the ice cream balls from the freezer. Top with whipped cream, drizzle with chocolate or caramel sauce, and add any optional toppings you desire.

Notes

Firm ice cream is crucial; ensure the balls are well-frozen before coating. Consider double coating for extra crunch, and serve immediately after topping to maintain texture.
