Ingredients
  

For the Base

  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

For the Sauce

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream Substitute with half-and-half for a lighter version.
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese Pecorino Romano can be used for a sharper flavor.
  • Salt and pepper to taste

To Serve

  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Preparation

  • Cook the orzo pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Add the shrimp to the skillet and sauté until they turn pink and are cooked through, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Stir in the heavy cream and grated Parmesan cheese. Let it simmer for a few minutes until the sauce thickens.
  • Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste. Add the cooked orzo to the skillet and toss to combine everything gently.
  • Garnish the dish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

Use fresh ingredients for best flavor. Serve with a side salad and garlic bread for a complete meal.
