  • 1 pound ground beef Use lean ground beef for a healthier version.
  • 1 cup cooked macaroni Do not use uncooked macaroni for the right texture.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Reserve half for topping.
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, cooked macaroni, 1/2 cup of cheddar cheese, milk, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, garlic, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  • Transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish and top with the remaining cheese.

Baking

  • Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the meat is cooked through and the top is golden brown.
  • Let it rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve with a side salad or steamed vegetables. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days or freeze for longer storage. Feel free to customize the recipe with additional ingredients like bell peppers or spices.
