Ingredients
  

For the Chicken

  • 4 pieces Chicken breasts Can substitute with chicken thighs for juicier results.

For the Marinade

  • 1/2 cup Soy sauce Use low-sodium soy sauce to reduce salt intake.
  • 3 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger (grated)
  • 2 tablespoons Honey or sugar Maple syrup or agave can be used for a different flavor profile.
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper

To Serve

  • 4 cups Steamed rice
  • 4 cups Mixed vegetables Frozen mixed vegetables are a quick option.

Preparation

  • In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, honey or sugar, and black pepper to create a flavorful marinade.
  • Place the chicken breasts in the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to 2 hours.

Cooking

  • Preheat the grill or oven to medium-high heat.
  • Remove the chicken from the marinade and discard the marinade.
  • Grill or bake the chicken for 6-7 minutes per side or until fully cooked.
  • Once cooked, allow the chicken to rest for a few minutes before slicing.

Serving

  • Serve with steamed rice and mixed vegetables.

Notes

Ensure the chicken is at room temperature before cooking for even results. For added flavor, garnish with sliced green onions or sesame seeds before serving.
