  • 1 pound ground beef Use lean ground beef for a healthier option.
  • 3 cups broccoli florets Fresh broccoli is recommended.
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For cooking the beef.

Seasonings

  • 1 teaspoon salt Adjust to taste.
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes Optional for spice.

Cream and Cheese

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Feel free to use a blend of cheeses.
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce Optional; skip for a gluten-free option.

Instructions
 

Cooking the Beef

  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat until shimmering.
  • Add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula into small crumbles. Cook for 6–8 minutes, until deeply browned.

Adding Vegetables

  • Push the beef to one side of the skillet and add the diced onion and minced garlic. Cook for about 3 minutes until the onion is translucent.
  • Stir in the broccoli florets and sauté for 1 minute to combine with the beef.

Seasoning

  • Season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Stir to coat evenly.

Cooking the Broccoli

  • Cover the skillet and cook for 5–7 minutes, until the broccoli is tender but still crisp. Stir halfway through.

Adding Cream and Cheese

  • Reduce heat to low, pour in heavy cream, and stir gently, scraping up browned bits.
  • Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top, cover, and cook for 2–3 minutes until melted.

Finishing Touches

  • If using, drizzle Worcestershire sauce and sprinkle red pepper flakes over the cheese. Stir gently to combine.
  • Remove from heat and serve hot.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat in the microwave or on the stovetop. For a lighter option, substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken.
