Ingredients

For the Base

  • 2 pieces chicken breasts Boneless and skinless
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil Any neutral oil can be used

For the Sauce

  • 1/4 cup honey Can substitute with maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce Use low-sodium for a milder flavor
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced Fresh gives the best flavor

For the Vegetables

  • 2 cups green beans Fresh preferred for crisp texture

To Serve

  • Cooked rice For serving; options include white, brown, or jasmine rice

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a small bowl, mix together the honey, soy sauce, and minced garlic. Set aside.

Cooking

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
  • Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then add them to the hot skillet. Cook for about 5–7 minutes on one side, until golden brown. Flip and cook another 5–7 minutes until cooked through.
  • Add the green beans around the chicken in the skillet and pour the honey-garlic sauce evenly over everything.
  • Gently stir to coat the beans and chicken in the sauce. Let everything simmer together for another 5–8 minutes until the green beans are tender and the sauce slightly thickens.
  • Serve the chicken and green beans over cooked rice, spooning extra sauce on top.

Notes

Pat chicken dry before seasoning to ensure even browning. Adjust cooking times based on chicken thickness. Optional: Add chili flakes for heat or a splash of rice vinegar for tang.
