Ingredients
  

For the Base

  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces About 450 g

For the Sauce / Marinade

  • 3 tablespoons honey Maple syrup or agave can be used as a substitute.
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce Use low-sodium for a milder taste; tamari for gluten-free.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Increase to 4 for a stronger garlic flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated Use 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger if fresh isn’t available.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Taste before adding too much salt.

For Cooking

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil Any neutral oil can work.

To Serve (optional)

  • Cooked rice For serving.
  • Green onions or sesame seeds For garnish.

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, salt, and pepper.
  • Add the chicken pieces to the marinade and toss to coat. Let sit for at least 30 minutes to absorb flavors.

Cooking

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  • Add the marinated chicken in a single layer. Reserve excess marinade if you want to boost the glaze later.
  • Cook the chicken, turning occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through, about 5–7 minutes. Work in batches if the pan is crowded.

Serving

  • Remove from heat and let the chicken rest for 1-2 minutes to set the glaze.
  • Serve over cooked rice and garnish with green onions or sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

For better texture, serve immediately. Marinate chicken for up to 24 hours for deeper flavor. Cooked chicken can be stored in an airtight container for 3-4 days.
