  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tablespoon rice wine (optional) Skip if not available.
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

To Serve

  • Optional garnishes: sliced green onions and sesame seeds Enhances flavors.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, rice wine (if using), and black pepper. Mix well until the sugar dissolves.
  • Add the chicken to the marinade, ensuring it’s fully coated. Cover it and let it sit for at least 30 minutes, or overnight for improved flavor.

Cooking

  • Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Add the vegetable oil to the surface just before cooking.
  • Place the marinated chicken on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until it’s fully cooked and no longer pink in the center.

Serving

  • Serve the grilled chicken hot, garnished with sliced green onions and sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

You can marinate the chicken a day in advance for deeper flavor. For best results, enjoy fresh, but leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
