Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef or ground turkey for a lighter option
  • 1 can green beans (15 oz) drained or use fresh vegetables
  • 1 can corn (15 oz) drained
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup (10.5 oz)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese or your favorite cheese
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper
  • 1 cup diced potatoes or tater tots optional for a crunchy topping

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and chopped onion. Cook until the beef is browned and the onions are translucent, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the browned beef and onions with the drained green beans, corn, cream of mushroom soup, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
  • Transfer the mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. If you're using diced potatoes or tater tots, layer them evenly on top of the beef and vegetable mixture. Finally, sprinkle the shredded cheese over the entire dish.

Baking

  • Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and place it in the preheated oven. Bake for 30 minutes.
  • After 30 minutes, remove the foil and bake for another 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

Serving

  • Once baked, let the casserole cool for a few moments before serving.

Notes

Customize with different meats, vegetables, or cheeses. Optional crispy topping with tater tots. Can be assembled ahead and refrigerated or frozen for later use.
