  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, sliced Slice evenly for even cooking
  • 1 cup shredded cheese Any cheese that melts well
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 2 cups beef broth Adjust quantity for desired moisture

Seasonings

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil For cooking the beef and onions

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and cook the ground beef and onions until the beef is browned.
  • Season with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.

Layering and Baking

  • In a greased baking dish, layer the sliced potatoes, followed by the beef mixture.
  • Pour beef broth over the layers and top with shredded cheese.
  • Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  • Remove foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  • Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve hot in slices or scoops. Pairs well with a simple salad or steamed vegetables. For storage, cool and refrigerate for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
