For the Dumplings

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large pot, brown the ground beef with the onion and garlic until cooked through. Drain excess fat.
  • Stir in the beef broth, frozen vegetables, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.

Dumpling Preparation

  • In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the milk and melted butter until just combined.
  • Drop spoonfuls of the dumpling batter into the simmering beef mixture. Cover and cook for 15-20 minutes until the dumplings are fluffy and cooked through.

Serving

  • Serve Ground Beef and Dumplings hot in bowls. You can add a sprinkle of fresh herbs like parsley for a pop of color.

Notes

For extra flavor, add your favorite herbs like thyme or rosemary to the beef mixture. Make sure not to overmix the dumpling batter; mixing just until combined will keep them fluffy. If you like a thicker sauce, simmer the beef mixture a bit longer before adding the dumplings.
