Main Ingredients

  • 6 slices slices of bread Trim the crusts off before rolling.
  • 1 cup thinly shredded cheese Can use American cheese.
  • 6 slices thinly sliced ham Optional.
  • 2 tbsp butter For cooking in the skillet.

Preparation

  • Trim the crust off the bread.
  • Roll the bread flat with a rolling pin.
  • Add shredded cheese on top and optionally place a slice of ham.
  • Roll the bread up tightly, using toothpicks if needed to hold them together.

Cooking

  • Heat a skillet to medium-medium low and add the butter.
  • Place the grilled cheese roll-ups in the pan.
  • Cook for 5 to 8 minutes, turning with tongs to brown evenly.
  • Remove from the pan and cut in half if desired. Serve warm.

Notes

Serve warm on their own or with dipping sauces like ketchup or marinara. Pair with soup or salad for a complete meal. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. Reheat in a skillet or microwave.
