Ingredients
  

For the Meatballs

  • 1 lb ground turkey You can substitute with ground chicken or lean beef if preferred.
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs Use gluten-free breadcrumbs or ground oats for a gluten-free version.
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup grated onion
  • 1 large egg

For the Tzatziki Sauce

  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt Swap with a dairy-free yogurt alternative for a vegan option.
  • 1/2 cup cucumber, grated and drained For added texture, try using diced bell peppers or zucchini.
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Salt to taste

To Serve

  • Fresh parsley or lemon wedges As garnish if desired.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, chopped parsley, minced garlic, oregano, salt, pepper, grated onion, and egg. Mix until all ingredients are well combined.
  • Roll the mixture into meatballs, about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through and golden brown.
  • While the meatballs are baking, prepare the tzatziki by mixing together the Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, lemon juice, and salt in a separate bowl.
  • Plate the meatballs warm with the tzatziki sauce on the side.

Notes

Ensure all ingredients are at room temperature for easier mixing. Use a dipping sauce instead of tzatziki for a different experience. Fresh herbs can brighten the flavor and improve presentation. Serve with lemon wedges to add a fresh squeeze before eating.
