Ingredients

For the Steak and Potatoes

  • 1 pound steak (sirloin or ribeye), cut into bite-sized pieces Any tender cut of steak works.
  • 2 cups small potatoes, halved or quartered Baby potatoes or Yukon Gold are recommended.
  • 4 tablespoons butter Use unsalted butter for better control over seasoning.
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced Fresh garlic is best for flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish For added flavor and presentation.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
  • Add the potatoes and season with salt and pepper. Cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden and tender.
  • Meanwhile, season the steak bites with salt and pepper.

Cooking

  • Push the potatoes to one side of the skillet and add butter and minced garlic to the empty side.
  • Once the butter has melted, add the steak bites and cook for 3-4 minutes for medium-rare, stirring occasionally.
  • Combine everything in the skillet and cook for an additional minute.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

Use a meat thermometer to ensure your steak is cooked to your liking, aiming for 130°F (54°C) for medium-rare. For crispy potatoes, consider parboiling them before adding to the skillet. Feel free to customize this dish with added vegetables like bell peppers or onions.
