Ingredients
  

For the Marinade Base

  • 1/4 cup olive oil Avocado oil can be used as a substitute.
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce Tamari can be used for a gluten-free option.

For the Sauce

  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar Red wine vinegar can be used for a different flavor.
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar Honey or maple syrup can also be used.
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika Use smoked paprika for a richer flavor.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

To Serve

  • Your choice of steak cut Works well with various cuts like ribeye, flank, or sirloin.

Preparation

  • In a bowl, combine the olive oil, soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, minced garlic, brown sugar, black pepper, paprika, and salt. Whisk until well combined.
  • Pour the marinade over your chosen cut of steak in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish. Ensure that the steak is well coated.
  • For optimal flavor, marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour or overnight if time permits.

Grilling

  • Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  • Remove the steak from the marinade and shake off any excess liquid. Grill the steak for about 5-7 minutes on each side, depending on the thickness and desired doneness.
  • After grilling, let the steak rest for a few minutes before slicing to allow the juices to redistribute.

Notes

You can prepare the marinade a day in advance and store it in the refrigerator. If the marinade looks too thin, you can simmer it to thicken, then use it as a glaze while grilling.
