  • 10 oz pasta (penne or rigatoni) Gluten-free pasta works well if needed.

For the Sauce

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 small yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups heavy cream Consider using half-and-half or plant-based cream for a lighter option.
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese Use nutritional yeast for a dairy-free alternative.
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional) Add more for extra heat.

To Serve

  • Fresh parsley or basil, for garnish Use fresh herbs to enhance flavor.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook pasta until al dente, according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  • Toss steak pieces with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder until evenly coated.

Cooking

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear steak in batches for 2–3 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
  • Reduce heat to medium. Add butter to the skillet and cook onion until soft, about 3–4 minutes. Stir in minced garlic and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
  • Pour in heavy cream, scraping up any browned bits from the skillet. Add Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, and Parmesan. Simmer for 4–5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  • Return steak to the skillet along with the cooked pasta. Toss until everything is well coated and heated through. Adjust seasoning as needed.
  • Garnish with fresh herbs before serving. Enjoy your creamy steak pasta with a side salad.

Notes

Don’t overcrowd the pan while cooking steak to ensure it sears properly. Watch the heat while making the sauce to prevent it from boiling over. Taste as you go to enhance flavors.
