Ingredients
  

For the Base

  • 1 pound boneless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Can substitute with gluten-free flour.
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch

For the Sauce

  • 1/2 cup honey Fresh honey recommended for best flavor.
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce Use low-sodium soy sauce for a healthier option.
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic

To Serve

  • to taste sesame seeds, for garnish
  • to taste chopped green onions, for garnish

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Cut the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces and set aside.
  • In a bowl, combine flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  • In a separate bowl, beat the egg.
  • Place the cornstarch in another dish for coating.

Breading and Frying

  • Dip each chicken piece into the flour mixture, then into the beaten egg, and finally coat with cornstarch.
  • In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat to about 350°F (175°C).
  • Carefully add the coated chicken pieces to the hot oil, cooking until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Remove the chicken from the oil and let it drain on paper towels to absorb excess grease.

Sauce Preparation

  • In a small saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and minced garlic. Heat over low flame until warm.

Coating and Serving

  • Once all chicken pieces are fried, place them in a large bowl and pour the honey sauce over them. Toss to coat evenly.
  • Serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.

Notes

For an eye-catching presentation, serve on a large platter garnished with fresh herbs. Add vegetables like bell peppers or snap peas to the honey sauce for extra flavor.
