Ingredients
  

For the Chicken

  • 8 pieces Chicken Drumsticks
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper Freshly ground for best flavor

For the Sauce

  • 2 tablespoons Smoked Paprika Substitute with regular paprika for milder taste
  • 4 cloves Garlic Minced; use garlic powder if fresh isn’t available
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon Mustard Yellow mustard can be used instead
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream Half-and-half can be used for a lighter option
  • 2 tablespoons Flour Gluten-free flour or cornstarch can be substituted
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes Adjust based on spice preference

To Serve

  • 2 cups Steamed Rice Jasmine or basmati are excellent choices

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Rinse the chicken drumsticks and pat them dry with paper towels. Season the drumsticks generously with salt and pepper.
  • In a bowl, combine the smoked paprika, garlic, and Dijon mustard. Coat the chicken drumsticks evenly with this mixture.
  • In a large oven-safe skillet, heat a little oil over medium heat. Sear the chicken drumsticks for 4-5 minutes until golden brown on all sides.
  • Remove the chicken from the skillet. In the same skillet, add the heavy cream, flour, and red pepper flakes, mixing well to combine and bring to a simmer.
  • Return the chicken to the skillet, spoon the sauce over the drumsticks, and bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until cooked through.

Notes

Consider using half-and-half for a lighter sauce. Substitute gluten-free flour to make it suitable for gluten sensitivities.
