Preparation

  • Cook the orzo according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the shrimp and cook until they turn pink, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Add minced garlic and broccoli florets to the skillet. Sauté for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the broccoli is bright green and tender.
  • Pour in chicken broth and heavy cream. Stir well to combine and let the mixture bubble for a couple of minutes to thicken.
  • Add the drained orzo to the skillet, mixing everything together. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve warm, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
