  • 2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts Slice chicken in half horizontally or pound to an even thickness.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For searing chicken.
  • 2 tablespoons butter Use in the sauce.
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced Sauté for flavor.
  • 1 cup heavy cream Can substitute with half-and-half for a lighter sauce.
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese Adds richness to the sauce.
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning For seasoning the chicken.
  • Salt and black pepper to taste Seasoning.
  • Fresh chopped parsley for garnish (optional) Optional garnish for serving.

Preparation

  • Slice chicken breasts in half horizontally or pound them to an even thickness. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.

Cooking

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sear the chicken until golden and cooked through, about 4–5 minutes per side.
  • Remove the chicken from the skillet. Lower the heat, add butter and garlic, and sauté until fragrant.
  • Pour in the cream and stir to deglaze the pan. Add Parmesan cheese and simmer until the sauce thickens.
  • Return the chicken to the skillet. Simmer for 2–3 minutes to heat through and coat with the sauce.

Notes

To store leftovers, let the chicken cool completely. Place it in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 3 days, or freeze it in a freezer-safe container for up to 2 months. Thaw in the fridge before reheating. For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in Italian dressing for a few hours before cooking. Make sure not to overcook the chicken to keep it juicy and tender. Spinach or sun-dried tomatoes can be added for extra flavor and nutrition.
