  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure your butter is softened for a fluffy texture.
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup chopped maraschino cherries, drained and patted dry Ensure cherries are well-drained to avoid excess moisture.

Topping

  • 1 package Hershey's Kisses, unwrapped

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Mix in the vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the flour, mixing until combined.
  • Fold in the chopped maraschino cherries carefully.

Baking

  • Roll the dough into small balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Remove from the oven and immediately press a Hershey's Kiss into the center of each cookie.
  • Allow to cool on a wire rack before serving.

Notes

Cherry Kiss Cookies can be enjoyed warm or at room temperature. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week. If freezing, separate cookies with parchment paper and seal in a freezer-safe bag.
