Ingredients

For the Base

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Whole wheat flour or gluten-free blend can be used as a substitute.
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tbsp olive oil Can be replaced with melted butter or ghee.

For the Sauce

  • 2 cups butter chicken (prepared) Store-bought butter chicken can also be used for convenience.

To Serve

  • Fresh cilantro (for garnish) Fresh parsley can be used if cilantro is not preferred.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and baking powder.
  • Gradually add the water and olive oil, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  • Knead the dough for a few minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
  • Divide the dough into small balls and roll them out into flatbreads of your desired thickness.
  • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook each flatbread for 2–3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Serve the warm flatbreads topped with prepared butter chicken and garnish with fresh cilantro.

Notes

Rest the dough for 15 minutes for easier rolling. Keep flatbreads uniform in size for even cooking. Adjust heat as necessary to prevent burning.
