For the Cookie Dough

  • 1 cup unsalted butter Browned for extra flavor
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat until it turns golden brown and smells nutty. Remove from heat and let cool.
  • In a large bowl, mix the brown butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  • Add the vanilla extract and eggs, mixing until well combined.
  • In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the butter mixture until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips.

Baking

  • Drop tablespoons of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden.
  • Let cool before enjoying.

Notes

These cookies are best served warm, straight from the oven. For storage, keep in an airtight container for up to a week or freeze for up to three months. For extra flavor, consider adding a sprinkle of sea salt on top before baking.
