Ingredients
  

For the Base

  • 2 cups fresh blueberries Use fresh blueberries for best flavor.
  • 4 cups boiling water Ensure water is at a rolling boil.
  • 4 tea bags black or green tea Black or green tea works best, but feel free to experiment with herbal teas.

For Sweetening

  • 1/4 cup sugar Adjust the amount of sugar according to taste.

To Serve

  • Ice cubes Use plenty of ice for serving.
  • Lemon slices For garnish.

Preparation

  • In a pitcher, add the blueberries and gently mash them to release their juices.
  • Pour boiling water over the mashed blueberries.
  • Add the tea bags to the pitcher and let steep for about 5 minutes.
  • Remove the tea bags and stir in the sugar until dissolved.
  • Allow the mixture to cool, then refrigerate until chilled.
  • To serve, pour the tea over ice and garnish with lemon slices.

Notes

This tea can be made a day in advance; store it in the refrigerator. It will keep for up to 4 days. Adjust sugar based on the sweetness of the blueberries.
