  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces Trimmed for even cooking.
  • 1 cup cream of mushroom soup
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 cup fried onions Used for topping.
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste Adjust according to preference.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add the green beans and cook for about 5 minutes until they are bright green and tender-crisp. Drain and set aside.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  • Add the cooked green beans to the soup mixture and stir until well coated.
  • Pour the mixture into a baking dish.
  • Top the casserole with fried onions evenly.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes until it is bubbly and golden brown.

Notes

Serve hot as a side dish; pairs well with roasted meats and mashed potatoes. For extra crunch, sprinkle additional fried onions on top before serving. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months without toppings. Adjust cooking time if using frozen green beans.
