  • 1 lb beef, sliced thinly Flank steak or sirloin works best
  • 3 cups broccoli florets Use fresh for best flavor and texture
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil For cooking
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce Can substitute with tamari for gluten-free
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced

Preparation

  • Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  • Add the beef and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until browned.
  • Add garlic and ginger, and stir for another minute.
  • Add broccoli and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp.
  • In a bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and beef broth until combined.
  • Pour the sauce over the beef and broccoli, stirring to coat.
  • Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  • Serve hot over rice or noodles.

Notes

To store leftovers, let the dish cool completely and transfer it to an airtight container. Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months. Customize with your favorite vegetables, or use chicken or tofu for a variation.
