Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces Can substitute with chicken thighs for more flavor.
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs Regular breadcrumbs can be used, but may not be as crispy.
  • to taste salt and pepper Season chicken pieces well.

For the Bang Bang Sauce

  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise Can use low-fat mayonnaise or Greek yogurt for a healthier option.
  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tbsp sriracha Adjust amount to suitable spice level.

To Serve

  • green onions, chopped For garnish.

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, season the chicken pieces with salt and pepper.

Dredging

  • Dredge the seasoned chicken in flour, ensuring each piece is evenly coated.
  • Dip the chicken into the beaten egg before thoroughly coating with panko breadcrumbs.

Frying

  • Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
  • Fry the chicken pieces for about 5-7 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through.

Sauce Preparation

  • In a separate bowl, mix mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, and sriracha to create the bang bang sauce.

Tossing Chicken

  • Once cooked, remove chicken from the pan and toss in the prepared bang bang sauce until well coated.

Serving

  • Serve the sauced chicken as an appetizer or over rice and veggies, garnished with chopped green onions.

Notes

For extra crunch, fry the chicken in batches. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. Reheat in the oven to maintain crispiness.
