Ingredients
  

Batter Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 apple, peeled and diced
  • as needed Oil for frying
  • for dusting Powdered sugar

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and sugar.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, vanilla extract, and milk.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  • Fold in the diced apple.

Cooking

  • Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
  • Once hot, drop spoonfuls of batter into the oil and fry until golden brown on all sides.
  • Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
  • Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with powdered sugar. Consider adding a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of caramel sauce. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days, or refrigerate for up to a week.
