Ingredients
  

For the Toast

  • 2 slices thick bread (sourdough or sandwich bread) Use thick bread so it holds the egg.
  • 2 large eggs Keep yolk whole for a runny center.
  • ½ cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, etc.) Use different cheeses for variations.
  • 1 tablespoon butter (optional) Lightly butter one side of the bread.
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • to taste fresh parsley or chives (optional) For garnish.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat air fryer to 375°F.
  • Lightly butter one side of each bread slice. Press a well into the center of each slice.
  • Crack one egg into each bread well.
  • Sprinkle shredded cheese around the edges of the well or over the egg whites.

Cooking

  • Air fry for 6–8 minutes, until the whites are set and the cheese is melted.
  • Season with salt, pepper, and herbs. Serve hot.

Notes

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat in the air fryer to maintain crispiness.
