Ingredients
  

Apples

  • 2 large large apples (Honeycrisp or Granny Smith) Choose firm apples for the best texture.

Coating

  • ½ cup all-purpose flour Use for dredging.
  • 1 large egg Whisk with milk.
  • 2 tablespoons milk Combine with egg.
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs For coating.
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar Sweetens the coating.
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon Adjust based on preference.
  • Nonstick cooking spray For coating the air fryer basket.

Preparation

  • Peel (optional) and cut apples into fry-like sticks. Pat dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.
  • Set up coating stations: In Bowl 1, add flour. In Bowl 2, whisk egg and milk together. In Bowl 3, mix panko breadcrumbs, sugar, and cinnamon.

Coating and Air Frying

  • Dredge each apple stick in flour, dip into the egg mixture, then coat well with the breadcrumb mixture.
  • Lightly spray coated apple fries with nonstick spray. Place in the air fryer basket in a single layer (work in batches if needed).
  • Air fry at 380°F (190°C) for 7–9 minutes, shaking basket halfway through, until golden and crispy.

Serving

  • Enjoy warm with caramel dip, yogurt, or whipped cream.

Notes

To store leftover Apple Fries, place them in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They will stay fresh for up to 2 days. When reheating, pop them back in the air fryer for a few minutes to regain their crispiness. You can sprinkle a little extra cinnamon or sugar on top for added flavor.
